    Back!
Home again, and glad to be there for relaxation. Just woke up from a bit of a much needed nap.

Trip was good, and staying a T @ C's was nice, if a little chaotic. On the plus side I apparently have a new best friend who is only 2 years old. *grin* C's sister's little girl was a handful Thursday night, but it was fun and she's a little doll.

Tattoo is shaping up nicely, pic will be posted later. About half of my back is covered now, so I estimate we have 7 or so hours to go until the piece is finished. I'll get more done in September before the wedding if I can, and possibly even as early as July as I've tenatively planned a trip up then as well.

Anyway, back up North tomorrow morning through Monday morning. Going to get more work done on the Dragon pictured a few entries ago.

Mean Squirrel Attacks Pa. Letter Carrier

OIL CITY, Pa. - Letter carriers occasionally have to deal with angry dogs or maybe even a spider's nest in a mailbox, but a mean squirrel? Barb Dougherty, a 30-year Postal Service employee, said she was attacked and bitten Monday by a squirrel while delivering mail in Oil City, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.

"It was a freak thing. It was traumatic," Dougherty told The Derrick in Oil City. "I saw it there on the porch, put the mail in the box and turned to walk away and it jumped on me."

The animal ran up her leg and onto her back, she said.

"I eventually got a hold of the tail and pulled it off me," Dougherty said. "No one was home at the house where I was delivering the mail, but the neighbor lady heard me screaming and came over."

An ambulance took Dougherty to the hospital, where she was treated for cuts and scratches. The squirrel was killed with a BB gun and sent to a lab to be tested for rabies. Dougherty was given the first series of rabies shots as a precaution.

Postal officials said the attack is extraordinary.

"In about 230 years of postal history, I bet it is not the first, but I've personally never heard of another squirrel biting," said Steve Kochersperger, spokesman for the Erie district.

Squirrels do not frequently bite people, said Regis Senko, who works for the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Steve Jolley, a Postal Service manager in Oil City, said, "We are not issuing a squirrel alert, but everyone is aware of the incident."

    Update!
Ugly ugly busy week at work, and only one day of it is done so far...well, not even done as I'm not done working for another hour and I started at 8am this morning. Thankfully, after this hell week things should settle down to merely hectic again.

A few good things to report, however.

    The Raptor is sold.

I have an appointment at the Vishnu Bunny for next month. 5 hours of scheduled pain, woo!

God of War is, hands down, the BEST console game I've played to date. Simply amazing.

    Uh, that's about it.

    Monday morning blues
Woke up this morning with my usual tired reluctance. As I was groggily going about my morning routing I realized that a year ago I wouldn't have been so reluctant to get out of bed. I would have be happy to get up and start my day, I had things that I LIKED to look forward to.

Where the hell did that all go? Why haven't I maintained, or been able to recreate that feeling since?

I don't WANT to be unhappy all the time, I'm not some goth sitting around in the dark writing shitty poems about how much happier I'd be if I were dead. I'm not sitting around at home moping all the time either, I interact with other people every day at work and every night when I play. So....why is none of it satisfying anymore?

Off to breakfast and work, and finding out when I can take my trip home for tattoo work. I believe I have finally come up with what I want on my back. Now I just need to find the appropriate source image(s).

    Later.

Two nights of pager hell week left, and it's not been a fun one. Whee.

Storming this morning when I woke up, NASTY storms moving in tonight.

Gaming now, but it's raid night and the targets are boring so far. Bit sleepy too, damn pager.

    Sleepless in, wherever.
So, when I try to sleep I don't actually get any real sleep about 90% of the time (medically verified by a sleep study, not the % but the fact that I'm FUCKED when I try to sleep). When I WANT to sleep, even the fake shitty sleep I normally get I find that I can't. I'm exhausted from not sleeping properly, and can't even get to that state tonight. *sigh* Going to be a pile of shit tomorrow, and I get the pager for a week starting tomorrow morning. I can't miss anymore work for awhile, this sleep problem + my mountain of stress have caused me too many missed days and I now have too much project work going on anyway.

The gist of all this whining is that I just popped two pain pills to try to put myself down for the night, Ambien CR sadly has little to no effect on me anymore. So here I am typing to nobody in particular again, at Midnight, while I wait to feel the woosy pseudo-high of good pain meds flood through my head.

Been looking for a song that I don't know the title, or band, and I barely remember any of the lyrics for. Very frustrating. Drugs are starting to work now too. I'd better try bed again.

    Lies.
LJ doesn't delete anything after 30 days apparently.

Not sure why I'm back here, not exactly full of happy memories. So many things I can't forget, even now.

Negativity just feeds on itself, however. An abundance of good drugs doesn't hurt either.

    So "hi" to whomever.

To someone else who may never see this, hope you are still recycling.

This started as some stupid "What is your ideal SO?" quiz, but didn't precisely fit my "mood" so I took this one instead. I do play WoW.

Gnomes are strange little things. Fascinated with gadgets and shiny things, gnomes are often plotting and planning - but are pretty smart, despite all the explosions.

As a warrior, you like to take charge of things. You feel that you're an important part of what's happening - and if things turn sour, you like to have a very large weapon on hand that you can use to negotiate.

    Ouch?
So, planned expenses for my errand run today were:

    Car stuff: 100-200
    Best Buy: 60
    Lunch for two people: 25

    Real expenses were more like:

    Car: 125 (yay)
    Best Buy: 62 (yay)
    Lunch: 23 (woo)
New glasses with kick ass rimless frames + uber lenses with every coating known to man + perscription sunglasses with same coating madness and sweet ass frames: 866 (WTF!?!?!?)

I am never, ever, buying glasses again. But they look good, goddammit. Sadly, I don't get the real deals for two weeks, so no new flashy eyeware for this weekend.
